Well....I'm not getting any less busy....
Last Sunday I did the translation job for Barrie, the Vancouver business man. It was quite an affair, and as nerve racking as it should have been. I translated for various businessmen marking the founding ceremony for the project (Vancouver Plaza and Vancouver Square), and at the very end for the vice major of Zhengzhou....the toughest part was, of course, the unplanned part: a man from Europe, an apparently last-minute speaker, needed me to translate his speech into Chinese, without any preparation (i.e. when he got onto the podium) so I had my first taste of simultaneous translation. It's like doing battle with a samurai warrior: you never know where or when he's going to come at you. I did a reasonable job of it I think.
But I still prefer studying on my own for now; I definitely don't count myself as finished studying yet. For the next little while things are going to be pretty much the same: study-work-sleep. I enjoy it, anyways.
I had lunch with Zhang Tuan after classes this morning, then studied in the afternoon, taught two classes in the evening, and in a little while I might go for a walk to relax...
Pictures: ZT today at lunch; me.
